I want to find some new stuff for my ipod (mind you, I already have a buy list of over 100 and 2311 songs already) and I thought we could give each other suggestions. How about 5 bands, 5 individual songs, and for those of us who like Show tunes, 5 musical soundtracks. Sound good?
Bands -Hey Monday -They're a bit like Paramore, only less mainstream. I'm currently addicted to their album. -Every Avenue - Kat and I both love their stuff. They're point blank awesome. -The Academy is -Savannah, Kat and I all love them. They rock, and have a ton of albums to choose from. -We the Kings - Mia, I know you know who they are. But I'm not sure if you knew that they came out with a new EP. Three new songs, and some new versions of old songs. -Hit the Lights - Not my favorite, but still pretty good.
Songs (Note: this does not include all of the songs by the above bands) -Hammers and Stringe (A Lullaby) by Jack's Mannequin - That 70's Song by The Cab -Galileo by the Indigo Girls -Take it Home by The White Tie Affair -Monster by Meg & Dia
Musicals -Billy Elliot (My favorites are Solidarity, Electricity and Shine) -Urinetown (My favorite is Run, Freedom Run) -Jesus Christ Superstar (My favorites are I Don't Know How To Love Him, and the title song) -Sweeney Todd (My favorite is Epiphany) -Les Miserables (I Dreamed a Dream and On My Own are the two saddest songs ever written.)
So, um yeah. Do you guys have any recommendations? Lol, sorry. Obviously, I'm a music freak.

Obviously, because this is a WRITING website, not a MUSIC website. Although if worse comes to worse this might be what it turns into.
Bands: Schaeffer - Just discovered them, they ROCK. Standard Candle - Also just discovered them. The one song I have by them is kinda inappropriate, but oh wells. Goo Goo Dolls - BEST. BAND. EVER. Okay, Five for Fighting is better, but they are a close second. Rookie of the Year - Not the best, but I think Abbie would like it. Train - Yet another amazing band.
Songs (these are definitely NOT my faves, but I think everyone knows what my faves are, therefore...new songs!): La la La by The Bird and the Bee Something to Sleep to by Michelle Branch Iloveyouwithacrash by Schaeffer (yes, the title actually looks like that) Feels Like Today by Rascal Flatts Who's to Say by Vanessa Carlton
Musicals: Spring Awakening (I Believe and The Song of Purple Summer) Jersey Boys (Not sure what I like; haven't seen the musical in a long time)
Can't think of anymore...

Yee! I love both Jersey Boys and Spring Awakening. Well, I haven't seen Spring Awakening but I like the soundtrack. My favorite is Left Behind. And my favorite Jersey Boys song is Who Loves You. Although all of that soundtrack rocks as well. And I loved the play. Yay! I shall look up the bands later, although I already like Train and love Goo Goo Dolls. Rookie of the Year sounds familiar.

I love Jersey Boys.
k, here is my list.
Bands: The Killers (THEY ARE THE BEST) The Red Hot Chilli Peppers (they are really good...) Spoon (An interesting band, but none the less, good) Lesley Roy (She's a really good singer, I already told you Abbie about her) Third Eye Blind (I know you guys know about them, I just wanted to put them out there)
These are not my favorite bands at all, its just that I'm not suggesting stuff that either of you guys have put up, or ones that we all know (ex. Coldplay)
Songs: Still Alive by GLaDOS Spaceman by the Killers Jenny is a Friend of Mine by the Killers Float On by Modest Mouse The Fear by Lily Allen
Once again, besides the songs by the Killers, these songs aren't my favorites, but they are ones I'm listening to currently and I think that you guys might enjoy.
Musicals: Jersey Boys: Big Girls Don't Cry and Walk Like a Man Momma Mia (that's my all time favorite Musical): Lay all your love on me
Uh... I'm not going to list any more musicals because all my favorites have been said so....

Ohmigod, Mia you have decidedly excellent taste in music. You do too Savannah, but this post isn't about you. But yeah, love Schaeffer, Standard Candle and Rooke of the Year. The individual songs were good too. And I knew Goo Goo Dolls and Train, so yeah. BTW, do you like the song Secret Smile by Rascal Flatts? It's my current favorite by them. And yeah, Savannah I knew all yours, either cause you told me about them previously or found them on my own. Lol, didn't know you liked Float On, it's been on my list for ages.

Yeah, I've liked Float On for almost a month now. I own it. It's a really good song. Yeah, mine weren't that original, I decided not to rack my brain to conjure songs. I figured you'd know most/all of mine, I just didn't think Mia would. And since she hasn't posted a reply yet, we can't say anything for sure. I knew all of yours Abbie, and most of Mia's, so I guess you could say we're even. The Goo Goo Dolls are also one of my favorite bands. And don't worry about inappropriate songs, I have a bunch on my iPod.

WTF. And I don't know any of your music, because I am musically challenged. Sort of.
I only wrote those bands because I knew Abbie would like them. I love Schaeffer, but the others are just random.
